Nature's Bounty CLA-Review

Product Claims of Nature's Bounty CLA
Conjugated Linolenic Acid (CLA) is a fatty acid found in certain foods but it is also sold as a nutritional supplement as an aid to those on the weight loss journey. Many clinical studies have been conducted into this aspect of CLA. In this opening section we usually summarize the what the manufacturer says its product does. In this case there really aren't any claims as such, at least on the product website for Nature's Bounty CLA. "Toning formula" and "Support for your dieting goals" is about as verbose as the website gets in terms of tub-thumping. Below we dig into Nature's Bounty CLA, as best we can, to provide a review of its features and drawbacks. Read on to learn what we learned.
Ingredients
There is just one main ingredient in this product and that is the Tonalin CLA (from safflower oil) at 2000 mg. Other ingredients include Gelatin Vegetable Glycerin Natural Caramel Color. The manufacturer implies that its product can help with weight management and overall health but that it should be combined with a healthy reduced-calorie diet and regular exercise.
Dosage Instructions
Adults should take two gels in the morning and one in the afternoon. It is preferred that capsules are taken with meals. This product is not intended for pregnant or nursing women, people currently on medication or those who already have a known medical condition.
Cost and Guarantee
In keeping with its minimalist theme, Nature's Bounty does not sell CLA on its product website but rather in a couple of well-known stores. CLA can be purchased at Walgreens for $17.99, at Vitacost for $14.39 and at Jet for $12.42 and $11.80 on Amazon. Walmart did not have it in stock at the time of our review.
Since these cannot be purchased through the manufacturer website and only via a retailer, the refund policy is that of the retailer.
Summary of our Nature's Bounty CLA Review
While Nature's Bounty CLA is a relatively inexpensive product in its category, there are a number of issues which should be pointed out. First, the total daily consumption (3000mg) is higher than what is generally accepted as the daily dosage. This brings up questions of side effects such as allergic reactions or others. Second, there is little to no information on the manufacturer. This leaves us with an uneasy feeling. In addition, there is very little product information on the website. The label and the cost were found at other retailer sites and the Nature's Bounty product FAQ page was empty when we reviewed the website. There are no customer testimonials, although customer feedback for this product on Amazon is generally ok.
There are many other products out on the market which use CLA at its right dosage and provide prospective clients with substantial information on how it works, why it works and why their product is the best of its kind. Given all the information that is out there on other products, we feel you are better off focusing on other options in this category.
