IBS Aid-Review

Product Claims of IBS Aid
The following is a review of a product called IBS Aid. This is a product formulated for the treatment of digestive disorders associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The primary therapeutic ingredient is a dietary source of concentrated nucleotides to facilitate digestion in the small intestine. The product is gluten-free and vegetarian-friendly.
Ingredients
- Yeast extracts
- Maltodextrin
- Inositol
- Nucleotides & RNA from extracts of Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide and high on the glycemic index (GI), meaning that it can cause a spike in your blood sugar. We are not sure why this, and the other ingredients are added in this supplement. It is unclear how they are beneficial, and this supplement seems to be lacking many of the key ingredients found in similar products for treating IBS. The label has a warning that states if you are allergic to yeast, have Gout, have autoimmune disease, are an organ transplant recipient, or if you are pregnant or nursing, please contact your physician before taking this product.
Dosage Instructions
Take 1-2 capsules a day for 30 days with meals. The manufacturer does not specify the time of day that the capsules should be consumed.
Cost and Guarantee
On the manufacturer's site, a bottle of 30 capsules costs $34.95. If taking 2 capsules per day, this bottle will only be enough for 15 days. Shipping and handling are extra but the costs are not stated on the company website. There are no discounts for first time buyers nor for bulk purchases. If not satisfied, within 30 days, you can return the product to the manufacturer for a refund minus shipping and handling costs. This return policy does not include opened bottles of pills.
Summary Of Our IBS Aid Review
There are very few things that we liked about IBS Aid one of which is the 30 day return policy that allows you to return the product (unopened only). We also liked that the product is gluten-free and vegetarian-friendly. The rest of what we summarize here are not so positive comments. Firstly, the manufacturer does not explain on their website when you should take the capsules. It just says to take 1-2 pills per day with a meal. The website says that they have never received a single report from anyone who has taken IBS Aid about any negative effects or side effects. This is hardly a thing to boast about. We are more interested to know if users write in to say how well the product works! In terms of pricing, IBS Aid is a very costly product considering that one bottle costs $34.95 and only contains enough pills for 15 days if taking 2 pills per day. Shipping and handling add an undisclosed extra charge which is not stated on the website. There are no incentives for first time buyers, nor for bulk buyers. The return policy does not include shipping and handling so it's not clear how much these will subtract from the eventual refund. The refund policy was not so helpful because it requires you to return the product within 30 days which is a very short time and secondly it doesn't allow you to return opened bottles of pills. We checked on Amazon for product reviews and saw that there was not one single review of the product which was worrying and surprising. We therefore strongly recommend that you steer well clear of this product and look for one with a better return policy, with lots of reviews, and more proven and effective ingredients.
